We’ve just come back from a stay at Pen Y Bont, a campsite tucked close to the shores of Lake Bala and we’ve put together a quick video sharing what we thought.
This spot really surprised us in all the right ways. The pitches are well divided, giving everyone a bit of breathing room, and each one comes with electric hookup, waste water connection, a tap, and a gravel base that keeps things tidy and level. For anyone who likes a pitch with everything ready to go, this setup is spot on.
The modern facilities were another highlight. Clean, fresh, and clearly looked after, exactly what you want after a day out exploring. And speaking of exploring, the location is brilliant. You’re minutes from bike trails, the lake, and all the outdoor fun Bala has to offer.
We did notice one thing worth mentioning: the campsite sits fairly close to a main road. It didn’t bother us too much, but light sleepers might pick up a bit of traffic noise at night.
Overall, Pen Y Bont gave us a great base for our Bala adventures, and we’d happily go back. If you want to see the full breakdown, check out the video, and keep an eye out for our next one, where we take you along to Lake Bala itself.
